A collaborative field day between DINZ and Beef + Lamb New Zealand
This field day will look at the benefits of farming mixed livestock species for farmers who are looking at new opportunities, (i.e. introducing deer, sheep, or beef into their system) We will discuss how changing livestock species can better spread risk, and match pasture growth to have better complimentary livestock management.
This field day will cover:
- Setup Costs
- Cash Flow Benefits
- Parasite Management – Strategies for reducing parasite burdens/utilizing mix species in your system.
- Feed Management
- Forage Selection
We will have Wayne Allan and Ginny Dodunski sharing their expertise on the day.
This field day is a farm tour in two locations. You’ll need a suitable 4x4 vehicle for off road farm tracks.
Thank you to Tom and Samantha Macfarlane and their team for hosting us.
