Velvetting Season 2025/26 >>

The coming season could be challenging, with rumours of underhanded tactics and misinformation currently filtering back to the Executive Committee. Any decrease in prices from last season would be unacceptable, while greater transparency and an improvement in some buyers’ behaviour and attitude is needed to ensure the longevity of our industry.

VelTrak Terms of Use strengthened, export licensing advanced >>

At the 16 July DINZ Board meeting in Cambridge, the Board approved the proposed changes to the VelTrak Terms of Use, which will impact velvet buyers. The changes, which were developed with input from the Export Licensing Working Group as well as legal advisers, will take affect from 1 September 2025.
The changes are not about creating more work; they are about improving compliance and accountability – creating a level playing field by rewarding those who play by the rules and sanctioning those who don’t. Enhanced industry discipline and transparency are natural outcomes as our industry matures.
