Welcome to our new look Stagline | Issue 180

Stagline Online over the years

Stagline has had a few changes over the years, with the last being a move away from hard copy to online due mostly to keeping costs of production at an affordable level.  However over time with the advent of the DINZ eNews and Deer Industry News now being published online, Stagline Online has become harder to distinguish from these other publications.

A recent DINZ survey of farmers on communication preferences showed that many farmers couldn’t see any clear difference between Stagline Online and eNews and also didn’t want to read the same news twice over.

We also found that farmers enjoy reading about what other farmers are doing or thinking about. No surprises there!

As a result, we have changed the title of our newsletter to “DFA Stagline” and the content will focus more on accounts of events that have been happening in DFA Branches around the country.  It is also being sent to all deer farmers to showcase what the NZ Deer Farmers Association does for its members – and hopefully it will encourage other farmers to join. DINZ, with input from DFA members, will continue to produce Deer Industry News and keep you up-to-date on industry matters.

Please let us know what you think about the new look and what you would like to see more of in future issues.

If you have recently held any deer farming events, please feel free to contact us and we will try to publish them in the next DFA Stagline issue.
