2023 CK Import Export Rising Stars Results | Issue 186

The 2023 CK Import Export Rising Stars were hosted by the Waipa NZDFA in Te Awamutu on 25 February 2023.

49 entries were received from throughout the country with almost 100 people attending the awards dinner held at the Te Awamutu Racecourse.

The 2023 winners are:

- 1yr Red HA from Crowley Deer with score of 644 5/8”
- 2yr Red HA from Crowley Deer with score of 707 7/8”
- 3yr Red HA from Adlam Family with score of 640 1/8”
- 4yr Red HA from Adlam Family with score of 838 4/8”
- 3yr Fallow from Pinewood Deer with score of 203 6/8”
- Sire of 3 heads winner was sire Texas from Crowley Deer
- 2yr Red Velvet winner was from Netherdale Deer
- Over 10 kg Velvet winner was from Wellington Farms
- 2yr Elk velvet was from Tikana Deer

- Peoples choice HA was the 4yr head from the Adlam family
- Peoples choice velvet was the 2yr Red velvet head from Netherdale Deer

The Supreme winner on the night as judged by the judging panel was the winner of the 2yr Red Hard Antler class, stag 20/0133 owned by Crowley Deer.

ATENTION: If farmers had HA heads grown in the 2022/23 season and were cut too late to enter this year’s competition, they can enter the 2024 competition but must register their interest with Helen Clarke by 10 March 2023 - campbell.clarke@xtra.co.nz or 07 873 2785.

 
The 2022 Matuschka Award winner, Barry MacKintosh was also presented with his Matuschka head by Catharine Morrow (Waikato Branch Chair).
